Advent of code 2021

Published on 21 November 2021

In just over a week Advent of Code returns. For the uninitiated, this is a daily code puzzle to solve which lasts until Christmas Eve.

I’ve never participated before, but I’m seriously considering it this year. Especially after this month’s challenge.

Looking back at previous years, the puzzles look fairly challenging, but being forced to tackle problems you wouldn’t normally face is a good way of developing your problem solving skills.

If I do take part, I might use it as an opportunity to build on my Python knowledge. Not that doing it in JavaScript would be too easy, but if I’m going to put myself through a challenge like this I want to come out the otherside with something tangible.

This post is part of a series of posts in which I write and publish a blog post every day throughout November 2021. There are no constraints on the project and the posts don’t neccissarliy have any connection to each other.

See all of the posts in the 30 days of writing project.
